Web Apps and the Music Industry
I’ve been fascinated by what’s happening in the music industry for a while now. I suppose it started with the success of the Arctic Monkeys who shared their MP3s on MySpace and gave out free CDs at gigs. Recently there has been a rise in web apps that aim to help bands out (often bypassing record labels) such as TuneCore, Amie Street and SellaBand not to mention the likes of Last.fm...
